Business Analyst

Job Description

A fantastic opportunity for an inquisitive data professional, you will be responsible for the creation and delivery of accurate and timely Management Information and Analysis to key stakeholders across the business. As part of a flexible team, you will provide insights on performance and monitor procedures whilst ensuring legal compliance and reducing risk.

Your new role

  • Work with a variety of stakeholders and systems across many different business functions to take ownership of development and production of accurate, insightful, concise, and timely reports/tools based on various sources of data to aid decision making.
  • Support the business by acting as a focal point within claims for data management and information to provide insights and data advice.
  • Represent claims on agile project teams to ensure that MI implications are considered as part of all change initiatives.
  • Participate in internal meetings, as required, to share and develop strategy, knowledge, and best practice.
  • Analyse claims data so that changes and trends can be pre-empted and communicated to the wider business.
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders, leaders and business managers to enable change to be accepted, embraced, and delivered smoothly.
  • Regularly communicate with customers/users at all levels to ensure that requirements and service meets customer satisfaction
  • Work within a team of data professionals in a hybrid working environment that embraces both home working and office-based collaboration as needed.

About you

  • A quality driven inquisitive mind with experience of working with data to glean insights
  • An ability to analyse, define and specify customer requirements and deploy effective time management that enables a logical and rational approach to problem solving
  • Technical skills (preferable but not essential): SQL coding, Power BI or Tableau report development, advanced MS Excel and Access knowledge
  • Working knowledge of insurance/ reinsurance (preferable but not essential)
  • A self-starter who is a strong team player with a desire to learn and develop
  • A customer focussed individual with effective communication skills, written and verbal, who can influence across all levels and departments
