Product Management

Our Product Management team works closely with our design, delivery and business teams to create an unforgettable experience for our customers. From streaming products like NOW, to providing smart entertainment products like Sky Glass and Sky Go, and creating unforgettable Connected Living experiences, we’re the problem solvers who find smarter and simpler ways to connect customers to more of what they love.

What you'll do

This rapidly growing, but seriously fun, friendly & cohesive team is at the heart of our product organization and is transforming the way that Sky understands the performance of its products. The work we do directly informs how our ever-evolving TV & Communication products are being developed to make every moment magical, everywhere, for our customers. We’re looking for people who thrive in understanding and solving complex problems and are prepared to make bold but effective data led decisions.

• You will support the creation and optimisation of Product Effectiveness data processes, capabilities and data sets across all our Sky products, from our core TV & Broadband products to cutting edge new technologies, enabling the wider product team to make use of best-in-class insight and analysis to drive constant improvement of our products in customers’ homes.
• Be broadly responsible for “how” we deliver against our business goals from an in-house data engineering perspective making use of your experience managing highly technical and large data sets within GCP or AWS using tools such as SQL, Splunk or via Python.
• Be a confident technical leader with experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Be responsible for delivering Innovative Proof of Concept DataMart’s
• You will quickly become the expert for the data that our Quality & Reliability & Product Experience teams within Product rely upon to make every moment magical for our customers.
• You will need to be excellent at building strong relationships and creating trust and become the key conduit between Sky Data and Group Product to communicate data requirements clearly for build into production systems
• You will seek out new tools, data sets and ways of working that would improve the performance of the team and the wider group product hub
• You will represent ‘voice of the data’ in business led reviews to highlight opportunities for data led decision making

What you'll bring

• Be experienced in leading an engineering team in an evolving and dynamic environment, where the focus is always on the customer experience.
• You will be able to articulate the capability and value data sets or tools can provide to the business
• Ability to simplify and clearly communicate complex technical principles for non-technical/business stakeholders
• An understanding of how to make our engineering better by improving delivery predictability and speed.
• Demonstrable experience of building ETL processes & Data Marts
• Rigorous and robust attention to detail ensuring numbers reconcile with known business figures
• Experience of automating solutions to reduce manual effort
• You will be constantly innovating, providing insight and recommendations on areas of technical improvement/opportunity or highlighting further analysis that could provide new insight across multiple data sets
• Previous experience of managing highly technical data sets via SQL essential
• Previous experience of managing large datasets via Splunk, GCP or AWS desirable
• Previous experience of managing data sets via Python preferable

Osterley

Our Osterley Campus is a 10-minute walk from Syon Lane train station. Or you can hop on one of our free shuttle buses that run to and from Osterley, Gunnersbury, Ealing Broadway and South Ealing tube stations. There are also plenty of bike shelters and showers.

On campus, you’ll find 13 subsidised restaurants, cafes, and a Waitrose. You can keep in shape at our subsidised gym, catch the latest shows and movies at our cinema, get your car washed, and even get pampered at our beauty salon.

Leeds

Our spacious tech hub is less than a mile from Leeds train station. There’s plenty of parking in the surrounding streets and at the nearby CitiPark.

Need a break? You can blow off steam over a game of pool or table tennis, and stay fit at our subsidised gym.

Livingston Watermark House

Our lively campus is a free shuttle bus away from Livingston South train station and the town centre. Plus there’s onsite parking available for cars, motorbikes and bicycles.

You’ll be well fed at our subsidised canteen, and you can keep in shape at our onsite gym – or play a game of pool or table tennis.
